- Features
- Optional iPod Interface: The optional KS-PD100 adapter (item # 257KSPD100) allows an iPod with a dock connector to be connected to and controlled by the KW-XC410. You'll be able to scroll through all your playlists, albums, artists, and genres directly from the head unit. Song titles and other file information show up right on the head unit display. The iPod is also charged while it is connected to the KW-XC410.
- Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KW-XC410 with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to Low Pwr the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to High Pwr and the volume control will range from 0 to 50.
- Level Meter: There are four different level meter patterns. You can choose one of them, each can be displayed for approximately 20 seconds (Level All), or the meter can be turned off.
- Contrast Adjustment: The display contrast may be adjusted from 1 to 10 for optimum legibility.
- Front Panel Auxiliary Input: A front panel stereo mini-jack is provided to allow the connection of a portable audio source. Just connect your portable cassette, MD or MP3 player to this unit, and you can listen to the audio from the portable player through the speakers in your mobile audio system. The input level of the auxiliary input can be adjusted from 0 to 5.
- Optional Input Adapter: An optional JVC Line Input Adapter (item # 105KSU57) or Aux Input Adapter (item # 257KSU58) can be used to provide an additional auxiliary input on this unit. The adapter connects to the CD changer input on the rear panel. When the adapter is connected to this unit, neither a CD changer or satellite radio tuner can be connected.
- 3-Band EQ: This model has 12 preset equalizer curves; Hard Rock, R&B, Pop, Jazz, Dance Music, Country, Reggae, Classic, Flat, and three programmable user presets. For each of the presets you can adjust the low, mid, and high frequency level (-6 to +6), the low and high center frequencies (60Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, or 120Hz for low and 8kHz, 10kHz, 12kHz, or 15kHz for high), and the low and mid curve widths.
- Favorite Station: There is an EX (extra) button along with the other source buttons. You can store your favorite station as the EX preset, then when you're listening to another station, or even another source the EX button recalls that favorite station. Pressing the EX button again returns you to the previous source or station.
- Station Names: You can assign names to 30 radio station frequencies, AM or FM. Each name can be up to 10 characters. A name cannot be stored for the frequency stored in the EX button.
- One Touch Operation: Pressing a source button (CD/CD Changer, Tape/Aux, FM/AM, EX) turns the unit on and selects that source.
- Dimmer: This unit is equipped with a wire that JVC calls an illumination lead, however it acts as a dimmer lead. The dimmer can be set to Off (normal brightness at all times), Auto (display window automatically dims when your car's dash lights are turned on), or On (display is always dimmed). Note that the amount of dimming is fixed, it cannot be adjusted, and the illumination wire must be connected for Auto operation.

- Direct Track Access: You can directly access CD tracks 1-12 by pressing the station preset buttons. Each of the six preset buttons has two numbers, 1 & 7, 2 & 8, 3 & 9, 4 & 10, 5 & 11, or 6 & 12. If a button is pressed for less than 1 second, the track corresponding to the lower number is selected. When a preset button is pressed for more than 1 second, the track corresponding to the higher number plus 6 is selected; this method is used to access tracks 7-12.
- MP3/WMA Playback: The KW-XC410 can play MP3/WMA files that have been recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs. The disc must be recorded in one of the following formats: ISO 9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet or Romeo. The unit can recognize a total of 512 files, 200 folders, and 8 folder hierarchies.
- CD Text: Song and album titles are displayed for the built-in CD player and a connected CD changer that supports CD Text. MP3 and WMA text is also displayed.
- Disc Eject Prohibit: This feature keeps the disc from ejecting even if the eject button is pushed.

- Changer Controls
- Compatibility: This unit is equipped with JVC's J-Link CD changer control system. It is fully compatible with JVC's CD/MP3 changer (257CHX1500). Other JVC CH-X series CD changers (except CH-X99 and CH-X100) can be controlled directly by this head unit, however, they are not compatible with MP3 discs. You cannot use the KD-MK series CD changers with this unit, even with an adapter.
- Changer Controls: In addition to basic disc navigation features, this unit has the following changer controls: direct disc access, disc intro scan, track intro scan, track repeat, disc repeat, disc random, and all disc random.
